Since its founding in March 2018, Melbourne’s Kapitol Group has established itself as a key player in the Victorian construction market.
The company, founded by ex-Multiplex employees Andrew Deveson and David Caputo, has been awarded 20 contracts in its short lifespan and has already delivered 8 of these. Kapitol Group projects include big-name clients, across key sectors such as education and health.
Projects recently completed or currently in the Kapitol pipeline include:
- NextDC M2 Tier 4 Data Centre
- Monash Laboratory Refurbishment
- RMIT Flight Simulator
- Western Health Imaging Department
- RMIT Escalator Upgrades
- RMIT Behavioural Laboratory
Founders Deveson and Caputo bring over 30 years’ experience to their new company, both having previously served as Regional Directors of construction giant Multiplex. They have since attracted three other senior staff from Multiplex to join them on their journey, in Chris Trimble (Operations Manager), Tim Trimble (Senior Project Manager) and David Corponi (Senior Project Manager). These additions have strengthened the delivery arm of the business, which will allow Caputo and Deveson to focus on business growth. In a further statement, Kapitol Group has also secured Tom Littlehales as Commercial Manager, formerly of Built & Probuild WA.
“It was a hard thing for us to leave such a great company,” reflects David Caputo on leaving Multiplex. “So why did we do it? It’s simple. Our vision is to create the best privately owned construction company in Australia.”
If Kapitol Group’s first 12 months is anything to go by, Deveson and Caputo are well on their way to achieving their goal. The impressive Tier 1 experience that the Kapitol Group team possesses, along with its impressive roster of clients and growing resume, brings exciting new prospects to the Victorian construction industry.
