Cbus Property: Melbourne Projects Roundup

The investment and development arm of building & construction super fund Cbus, Cbus Property has amassed an impressive $4.1 billion property portfolio since its beginnings in 2006.

Headed by Chief Executive Adrian Pozzo, Cbus Property oversees investment and development across the commercial, retail and residential sectors. With a further $5 billion in projects in the pipeline, Cbus Property continues to go from strength to strength – and their presence in the Victorian market is no exception.

We’ve wrapped up some of Cbus Property’s major development activity, either currently underway or in the works.

Collins Arch

We wrote on the progress of construction at the 447 Collins Street site last year.

The $1.2 billion project includes a five-star hotel, residential apartments, 49,000sqm of office space and a new retail offering. Half of the site will be dedicated to public amenities, including a new public park (Melbourne’s first new park in 40 years).

435 Bourke Street

Currently under planning assessment, Cbus’ bold plans for the prime CBD real estate involve a $1 billion commercial tower.

The 55-storey tower, designed by Bates Smart, would be just a few blocks away from the Collins Arch precinct.

Cbus amalgamated adjoining properties in the area to create the singular expansive site.

Holme Apartments

Venturing out of the CBD, works are well underway in Collingwood to deliver the 14-level Holme development. In the heart of Melbourne’s more industrial inner north, the Holme apartments aim to inject a residential element into their surrounds.

Designed by John Wardle Architects, the building will offer retail and commercial space to complement its 154 residential apartments.

Construction works are being completed by Hacer, with the project on track for completion in 2019.

17 Spring Street

Overlooking the Fitzroy Gardens, Cbus is looking to target the luxury residential market with large square meterage in the apartments – with floorplans ranging from 133 to 207 sqm.

Just down the street from their previous development at 35 Spring Street, Cbus will soon commence works on an 84-apartment residential tower at 17 Spring Street. Currently the home of a Mercure Hotel, Cbus acquired the site for $70 million in 2017 and won approval for its proposed tower, another design by Bates Smart.
